Rohan Mehra-Chetna Pande Talk About Intimacy And Vikas Gupta’s Temperament On The Sets Of Class Of 2020- EXCLUSIVE
TV actor Rohan Mehra recently made his digital debut opposite Chetna Pande in ALTBalaji's Class Of 2020 produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vikas Gupta. We caught up with the duo for an exclusive conversation and the two disclosed their school secrets, crushes, on screen kiss and lots more.

Chetna who’s a dear friend of Gupta (creator of the show) began by saying, "After coming out of the show Ace Of Space, Vikas used to often discuss about this series (Class of 2020) and its characters but he never told me that he is also planning to cast me. It came as a pleasant surprise when he said that he has this interesting role in mind for me. Without taking much time, I quickly said a yes for the show as it’s the first time that I’m playing this kind of a role; a serious character who has a mystery behind her and the whole climax is based around it.”

On the other hand, Rohan Mehra who is known for his good boy image on screen, especially after playing Naksh Singhania in the TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is seen as a Casanova in Class of 2020. Speaking about how difficult it was for him to change his image, he revealed, "I have always played goody roles. In fact, when I came out from the Bigg Boss house, people told me that I have been a good boy inside. So I was nervous and confused if I should take up this role or not, but then, as an actor we should experiment. Also, the reviews that I have received so far have been nothing less than heartwarming, so I am happy playing a Casanova onscreen".

Confessing her love for Ibrahim's character (played by Rohan Mehra), Chetna said, "Any girl would like to date somebody like him who is bad but turns good for someone else. In fact, the show’s producer Vikas also stated that out of all the characters he would have loved to play Ibrahim".

Also, this is the first time that Rohan has indulged in kissing and intimacy on screen, so speaking about it, he says, "Of course, I was nervous for the scene but now it’s equivalent to saying a dialogue. I had to do several retakes but the end result was good.”

This reminded Chetna of her first kissing scene on screen with Karan Kundra for MTV Fanaah, "It was my first kissing scene on Television and it was pretty uncomfortable. But humne bhi yeh socha that let's just do it in one go rather than going for retakes.”

The duo shocked one and all with their surprise stint in the Ace of Space house and recalling the incident, they revealed, “We were called by the team to promote our show. Around 6 in the morning, Vikas was planning how to go about it, then suddenly, he said ‘You two are entering the house for a 3-4 day stay and we were like yeh kya hua hamaare pass toh kapde bhi nahi hai’; it was difficult to manage.”

Since their show Class of 2020 is a high-school drama, the two reminisced about their school days. Rohan said, "I was totally the opposite of my character during my school days. I used to like a girl for 7 years (from 3rd to 10th grade) but didn’t have the guts to convey my feelings to her. In fact, I had my first girlfriend in college and my first kiss also happened at that time.”

Now, it was Chetna’s turn, and the actress told us, "I was a last bencher and never really turned the monitor in my school. But, I was good at sports so most of the time, I used to be on the grounds for it. My first kiss also happened when I was in college.” Furthermore, she spoke about how the atmosphere on sets was no less than that of a family, “With several girls being a part of the show, thankfully there were no cat fights on the set as we all gelled along like a happy family.”

Lastly, they spoke about Vikas Gupta’s temperament on sets and how the team would go numb when he used to take everyone's class.
